I'm Dave Huffman and I'm an Interactive Creative Director.
I've always had a keen interest in the magical place where technology and creativity intersect, going as far back to the late 90's, when I was teaching web to print designers and professors at the School of Visual Arts. I have a strategic, user-centered, value driven approach, and take great pride in bringing design craft coupled with innovative technology to my clients and their users to deliver "wow" experiences.
Over the years, I've had the opportunity to create or direct a bit of everything, websites, marketing campaigns, live interactive events and apps for a wide variety of clients including, USA Today, Bluefly, The Tata Group, Ralph Rucci, Marubeni, & Neutral Digital.
Currently, I'm the Creative Director at Other World Computing, a manufacturer of storage, connectivity, and upgrade solutions for professionals in the content creation industries. Leading a team of designers, copywriters, developers, brand strategists and email marketing professionals, I'm responsible for all creative touchpoints for the business including product design, brand management, go-to-market planning, and marketing & advertising for new products. OWC's products are used in the production of many projects in the Media & Entertainment industry including Rooster Teeth's - Crunch Time, Sarofsky's Guardians of the Galaxy and Moogfest 2017.
Previously, I was the Director of Creative Services at Volusion, responsible for leading all aspects of their creative services offering, delivering solutions for SMB and Enterprise clients on the Volusion and Mozu platforms. Clients range from prêt-à-porter fashion retailers, omni-channel national hardware chains, political campaigns & small local businesses to pure on-line entrepreneurs.
For 10 years prior to Volusion, I spearheaded the interactive creative team for STC Associates, a boutique NYC headquartered consultancy. I led a global team of designers and developers in the ideation, design and execution of a wide variety of materials ranging from websites, apps, landing pages and email marketing, to print materials, live events and branding. Some notable clients and projects include Tata Group subsidiaries like Tata Communications and Zoya, creating the first website for fashion designer Ralph Rucci, and taking USA Today's Super Bowl AdMeter voting on-line for the first time in 2013.
Prior to STC, I was the Creative Director at CarbonMedia, an interactive consultancy and marketing automation developer, guiding the UI/UX & visual design of their SaaS products as well as consulting with their users.
I attended the School of Visual Arts and graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design.
In addition to digital creative work, I also enjoy traditional creative pursuits like painting, screen printing, book binding, photography, wood working, and cooking.
I currently reside in the Austin, TX area with my wife and two dogs.
